Connie Costa is a Laughter Wellness Teacher (Level 3) and an active Laughter Wellness trainer, based in Sydney, Australia. She is the founder of Laugh and Live Well, an organisation that specializes in corporate wellbeing workshops, team building experiences and Laughter Wellness trainings. Her professional background is in education and she has over 9 years of international teaching experience.
Connie experienced the therapeutic power of laughter for herself, following a prolonged period of work related stress, which impacted her ability to heal from an injury. After six months of regular practice, Connie trained as a Laughter Yoga Leader and then as a Laughter Yoga Teacher, with Merv Neal, expert in Laughter Yoga for Business. She continued her professional development by studying Laughter Wellness (Level 2) through the Laughter Online University. This training deepened her knowledge and complemented her professional programs. In 2016, Connie worked closely with Sebastien Gendry to complete her Level 3 training.
Connie has presented at conferences and training days for Google, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Insurance Australia Group, amongst other organisations. She is a regular presenter at the Australian Laughter Wellness Conference and recently opened the first ever Happiness Effect Conference in Kuwait.
As a Laughter Wellness Trainer, Connie is passionate about empowering professionals to incorporate the Laughter Wellness principals and/or exercises into their line of work, to enrich more lives through the power of laughter. Her trainees have included psychologists, nurses, yoga teachers, community workers and a corporate reward and recognition program specialist.
She is also the coordinator of Bondi Beach Laughter Club, a non-profit community club that supports community health, wellbeing and connection.
