Have colored sheets of adhesive dots on tables in workshops. Tell people as they go through your program to “dot” any notes in your materials that they find particularly helpful or resonant so that when they flip through materials afterwards, their personalized key points will pop out. Sometimes, you may want to tell them to “dot” a point that you really want them to remember as well. At the end ask participants to skim their notes and pull out the top 3 take-aways. Have them share those take-aways with the person next to them. The dots are fun, but more important, the entire active dot process increases retention and promotes focus on, and commitment to, using these ideas back on the job.
